My Dreams and Aspirations
Massage therapy has been a passion of mine for 15 years. I am a dedicated practitioner and love empowering patients to understand their bodies and discover the gentle power of the healing arts. As a Massage Therapist, I enjoy being able to bridge the gap between western medicine and the “alternatives,” while providing a safe and nurturing atmosphere in which to heal.
Prior to getting into massage, I did Financial Analysis, Desktop Computer Support and taught Martial Arts for a couple of years. I had a draw toward the healing arts and knew the first time I laid hands on someone in massage school this was the right place for me to be. Since then, I have achieved my Bachelors in Nursing and worked as a nurse in a few different capacities for 6 years. I am drawn back to my roots: Massage.
Since the beginning of my massage career, I was drawn to pain relief and management as well as muscle injury repair. We do not have to walk around in pain all the time, massage can make a tremendous difference in your quality of life. After martial arts, I began cycling and running. I have done century cycling rides; I have run 7 marathons-including Boston in 2011, numerous half marathons, 10k's and 5k's. I did a half Ironman in 2012. Massage therapy is so beneficial for athletes, I hope you are taking care of yourself.
Outside of work, we have two dogs, a shitzu named Bella and a bulldog named Shelby. I am still running and cycling when I can. I love to do bootcamp/group training classes.
As with any career, I will continue to learn new techniques and modalities.
