Myofascial Release
What is Fascia? Fascia is a specialized system similar to a dense spider's web that surrounds every organ of the body: internal organs, muscles, bones, nerves, arteries and veins. The fascial system is a continuous woven structure that spans from head to toe without interruption. Fascia holds water and an electrical charge, and is designed to move with you. If you took the fascial system out of your body and sat it next to you, it would be a white replica!
Many things can cause restrictions in the fascia, called myofascial restrictions. Surgery, trauma, inflammatory responses can cause "tensile pressures of approximately 2,000 pounds per square inch on pain sensitive structures that do not show up in many of the standard tests (x-rays, myelograms, CAT scans, electromyography, etc.)"

Each patient is looked at individually, and a unique approach is used. I will use myofascial release techniques and movement therapy to release those restrictions and areas of tension.

Benefits of Myofascial Release:

Relieve muscle tension
Increase blood and lymph flow
Increase athletic performance
